Make your own messenger bag
Fantastic tutorial from Make Magazine and perfect timing, I got a sewing machine for my birthday!
Gigantic Gigantor
After the giant Gundam, work on the delayed Gigantor has picked up. How cool?
Here’s a pic to give an idea of scale.
It got me wondering why we didn’t have similar in the UK, I could hypothesise on the cultural differences and mainstream acceptance of manga/anime, but i reckon it’s we don’t have any cool characters, i mean they’re all too small for one and for another… well, not cool in that way. Don’t get me wrong, dangermouse IS cool, Chorlton IS cool and the Clangers are beyond cool. But I just can’t see them working… although… maybe a Soup Dragon…
Mood Music
New app that selects tunes from the Ghostly International and Spectral Sound catalogs to match your mood. Nice.

Desktop DJ
I’ve decided.
I’m never going to be a superstar DJ and I certainly don’t wish to be a drunk grown up playing records, to his unimpressed friends, at a dinner party…
So, the Technics are going to go. But what to do with all that lovely vinyl?
Get this that’s what, then I found out it’s a prototype… boo… had my card out and everything…
I’m a geek. I know.

When I found out a few months back that Parker had bought out Rotring, I was pretty gutted. Then I found out they’d decided other than technical pens, they’d halt production on all other lines…
To you, this probably means diddly, to me, it means a lot. My dad loved writing implements and especially the beautifully Germanic Rotrings, he passed that obsession to me.
Anyway, after finding this out, I went into a kind of frenzy trying to find some, the thought of existing with just the ones I own, currently around 6, was too much. Sadly, I failed… until now.
Bid on two, a roller and a fountain 600, hoping to win one, won both. darn. oops. yippee.
Much sketching/writing fun to be had. My Pa would be proud.
(BTW – the pens in the pic aren’t mine. Although I wish they were.)
Aghast… at a Hel-ghast… ahem…
Sorry.
Awesome custom Helghast figure, from Killzone 2 on PS3, by Jin Saotome.
I can’t pretend I know much about this custom figure thing, but i do like looking at the results. This level of dedication and obsessive attention to detail has to be commended.

Nice…
Nice (not so) little tool that suggests colour palettes (via Kuler and ColourLovers) to match whichever image you upload. You can then download the suggested colours as adobe palettes.
(Example pictured: upload of the new charge bike, alongside suggested palettes)
Obviously… as a designer… I umm… wouldn’t have need for it, but it’s very tidy… have a look
