And now for something different, an app, that’s umm… different. Decidedly niche, Inkr let’s you scan your hard drawn work (via the ipad camera), reposition it, add to it and/or use your ipad as a lightbox.

I just spent 200€ on a Copic lightbox. Damn.

Great idea, in a world full of apps (apps are the new plastic), nice to see one I care about.

Looks interesting a 10MP camera with printer built in… I know you don’t really need it, but it’s nice non?

The Polaroid Z2300 available to pre-order.

Fallen hard for the *ahem* branding of Camden Brewery’s ‘Ink Stout’. To the extent I may need to source some when I’m there…

Thanks to Oh Beautiful Beer for bringing it to my attention.

Documenting the graphic movement within tattooing ‘La Veine Graphique’ looks mighty interesting, with amazing work from the likes of Xoil, Kostek, Jef, Yann and Piet du congo to name a but a few.

Inspiring stuff.

You can buy it here.

I’ve been a fan of Jon Burgerman for quite some time. Almost as long as I’ve been a fan of NY. So, when they two become one, in his diary/comic chronicling a summer in the US, what’s not to love?

Really rather nice idea from Atomic, bespoke bolts – making each precious piece of your velo nigh on impossible to remove. Bit pricey if you wanted to protect a few bits, but I do like the thought…

Thanks to Gear Patrol.

I’ve tried a couple of stylus’ on my old iPad, I quite like it, just feels a little more precise that my big fat sausage fingers. But, this one in particular interests me greatly…

BORING LIFE INTERLUDE BIT: Nearly 2 years ago, whilst packing up to move to Berlin, I decided (controversially) to cull my lifelong trainer collection in one fail swoop. Three pairs remain, 1 pair of Nike Spiridon, 1 pair of Nike Mayfly and a pair of Nike Air Max One I just could’t part with. The first two, I’ve never worn and probably never will, a little nod to what was a serious obsession.

So, 50 pairs of kicks go to friends, ebay, bins, etc. I ‘grow’ up and take to Red Wing, Grenson, Sperry and a more mature type of trainer, Vans. 2 years later, partly down to the wearing of ‘hard shoes’ I give myself Achilles Tendonopathy. The cure? Wear trainers for a bit. Damn.

So… I’m looking and I’m finding it tricky, not a lot going on with trainers right now, re-release after re-release, so I was quite taken with these, mainly as they’re different (and I found the FREE thing very comfy). Haven’t bought them, but still like them… Anyway, the story of their creation is rather nice.

Levi’s with André & Shepard Fairey.

I didn’t really go in for the Levi’s Commuter stuff, they were nice and all that, but I couldn’t help feeling it was a little bandwagon, quite a few people going before, and in most cases, doing it better.

Anyway, regardless, really like these and they’re not stupid cash either. I know they’re not really taking any risks here either with their choice of collabs, well established and all that, but still… nice, I like.

Out on the 14th, exclusive to the Paris store. Get in quick.
