I’m feeling a bit down

So, i think it’s time to post the Henson pic that makes me both very happy and very, very, sad… it’s too beautiful…

So, i think it’s time to post the Henson pic that makes me both very happy and very, very, sad… it’s too beautiful…
it’s quite refreshing to see a ‘new’ model that… well, looks like an old model. the ural patrol T.
very clever design to boot, the side car can be powered by a shaft running from the cycle engine. making it a two wheel drive vehicle, quite sensible considering it’s roots back in the ussr.
thanks to cool hunting
Today is Dre Day…. apparently. He’s just turned 45.
So… ummm… ‘walk them like a strizzaw, tell me what you sizzaw’
Well, you may remember I spent a day a few weeks back helping out my mate Brod with his house. Not in a manly breaking/fixing stuff way, but in a re-arranging objects and adding decals to a wall sort of a way.
Anyway, said arranging was prompted by the imminent arrival of apartment therapy at his pad.
They took some great shots of the house and wrote a nice little article to boot, why not go look? You know how much fun it is nosing around people’s houses and this way is totally legal.
I am however, quite offended my asteroid stickers didn’t make it.

Jim Henson would have turned 73 today.
I wish he had. Just think of all the amazing things he would done in all that time…
‘If we reply to any RFPs in the future, we’ll be letting the prospective clients know that our submission will be online and that we’ll be measuring how much time is spent reviewing it. And we encourage other shops to do the same. If agencies are going to spend weeks preparing their response, the least any client can do is commit 30 minutes to look at it.’
I’ve long had issue with the whole pitch process, as a freelancer it doesn’t often affect me directly, or fiscally, but i do think on some levels it devalues what we all do… So, when i read this I had to agree.
HP – invent from Tom and Matt on Vimeo.
Really nice bit of D&AD student work for HP… and yes, it is a bit wasteful on the paper front, but it’s nice.
Well, it didn’t quite work when I tried it, but I’m still going to give this some props.

Don’t worry, I’m aware this is the first post on my new blog, believe me, i know… it took me ages to get wordpress on my server… but it’s just not a worthy post is it? ‘Welcome to my new blog! hurray for me…’
So, here we go… something ‘proper’
I’ve always been a fan of Milton Glaser, doing what I do, I think it’s hard not to be, so the news of a documentary about the great man was met with excitement… quickly followed by utter disappointment, when I found out it was in the states and I’d already missed it. Double score.
Well, movie aside, I still enjoyed a meander around the website of the man himself. Most inspirational.
